I just got back to Salina after being on vacation for the past two weeks! It was good to get away from the routine for awhile, but it is also so good to get back to it! I spent my vacation with my mom and all of her sisters in Mississippi at my aunts house. It was a great girls only weekend filled with antique shopping and relaxation. We also spent a few days at a lake and had some fun watching out for alligators! Although, we never saw one :(
School starts in four weeks! I'm really looking forward to getting this year started. I'm even looking forward to taking classes! This fall I'm taking Aviation Safety Management, Human Factors, Marketing, Supervisory Management, and Physics (yikes).
I'm also really looking forward to everyone coming back to school. I miss everyone!
The first week of school also means Wildcat Welcome Week!! Wildcat Welcome Week is a week full of events that are FREE to students...like...Bowling, Skating, Movie Night, Putt-putt and Laser tag!! You also get a free t-shirt! So on Sunday night (August 24th, the day before classes start) make sure to come to the Student Activity Center (aka the SAC) for a free dinner and pick up your t-shirt! Wildcat Welcome Week is also a great way to meet people. Wildcat Welcome Week is were I met some of my great friends! I hope to see everybody there!

Almost the 4th!
Hi guys!
So its almost the fourth of July! Which means...good food...family...my class is over...friends... going home...fireworks!! I have my final tonight...yikes! Needless to say, six week classes are insane and intense. I'm glad it will be over in about 6 hours!
Last weekend I decided it was time to go home. I hadn't been home since the spring semester ended and my mom was starting to gripe at me. It is SO nice to go home after being gone for almost two months. There is nothing better than sleeping in your own bed and having your mom cook for you. And I don't know about anyone else but everytime I go home my mom and dad always ask, "Is there anything you need?" Which this question always makes me giggle, I'm a poor college student, what don't I need? So we ended up shopping ALL day on Saturday, bought some necessities like detergent and tooth paste, but also some fun stuff like clothes...shoes...stuff I probably don't "need". But if they ask I'm not going to say no!
It's funny how going home has changed in the past two years. I remember after my first time moving away from home and then going back home felt so weird. It was like I didn't live there anymore, which I guess I didn't. I kept thinking, never again will I live under my parents roof. And that idea scared me. But now, after two years of college, and not having been home one summer, I love the idea of going home. I used to bring my laundry home with me so I could do it for free. But I have found that home is a good place just to relax and get away from all the stuff at school. Forget about laundry and homework and relax. Spend time with family and friends. Home is truly a unique place and sometimes I think I take that for granted.
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Fourth of July!!
