School has started. yay. Life in the past three weeks has been crazy! There hasn't been a spare minute.
And just today I finally got internet back up and running at my house! I haven't had it for like a month now. So I would like to take this moment to thank all of the people who have let me use their internet in the past month, I owe them.
The weather in the past couple of weeks has been not up to par. Flying has been at a minimum. Big bummer. But this upcoming weekend I'm flying to Kansas City to go to the Plaza Art Fair, and I'm really excited! I love the Plaza Art Fair, so much to do and such good food.
I hope everyone is having a good time with their classes. And don't forget to study!
Fall Bowling League starts this coming Thursday! I love bowling nights. It is a wonderful time to see friends and have some good laughs watching everyone bowl. I hope to see everyone there!

Last weekend of summer
Holy Crap! School starts Monday! Get excited!
I still need to go buy my books. I'm just really not looking forward to it, they are LOTS of money. :( But sometime I must get them...
I also still need to get my school supplies. You know...spirals, binders, maybe a couple new pens and pencils. I think I hear Wallmart calling my name!
And I have fallen in love...with the Dollar Store! Like true, everlasting love. It is always there for me when I am needing laundry detergent for $6 or a cup of soup for 25 cents...now thats love. Its truly perfect, everyone should start shopping at the Dollar Store, you will fall as deeply in love as I have.
Must go to the bookstore now. I hope everyone has a great first day of school!! Get ready to start studying!

Where has summer gone?
I just got back to Salina after being on vacation for the past two weeks! It was good to get away from the routine for awhile, but it is also so good to get back to it! I spent my vacation with my mom and all of her sisters in Mississippi at my aunts house. It was a great girls only weekend filled with antique shopping and relaxation. We also spent a few days at a lake and had some fun watching out for alligators! Although, we never saw one :(
School starts in four weeks! I'm really looking forward to getting this year started. I'm even looking forward to taking classes! This fall I'm taking Aviation Safety Management, Human Factors, Marketing, Supervisory Management, and Physics (yikes).
I'm also really looking forward to everyone coming back to school. I miss everyone!
The first week of school also means Wildcat Welcome Week!! Wildcat Welcome Week is a week full of events that are FREE to students...like...Bowling, Skating, Movie Night, Putt-putt and Laser tag!! You also get a free t-shirt! So on Sunday night (August 24th, the day before classes start) make sure to come to the Student Activity Center (aka the SAC) for a free dinner and pick up your t-shirt! Wildcat Welcome Week is also a great way to meet people. Wildcat Welcome Week is were I met some of my great friends! I hope to see everybody there!

Almost the 4th!
Hi guys!
So its almost the fourth of July! Which means...good food...family...my class is over...friends... going home...fireworks!! I have my final tonight...yikes! Needless to say, six week classes are insane and intense. I'm glad it will be over in about 6 hours!
Last weekend I decided it was time to go home. I hadn't been home since the spring semester ended and my mom was starting to gripe at me. It is SO nice to go home after being gone for almost two months. There is nothing better than sleeping in your own bed and having your mom cook for you. And I don't know about anyone else but everytime I go home my mom and dad always ask, "Is there anything you need?" Which this question always makes me giggle, I'm a poor college student, what don't I need? So we ended up shopping ALL day on Saturday, bought some necessities like detergent and tooth paste, but also some fun stuff like clothes...shoes...stuff I probably don't "need". But if they ask I'm not going to say no!
It's funny how going home has changed in the past two years. I remember after my first time moving away from home and then going back home felt so weird. It was like I didn't live there anymore, which I guess I didn't. I kept thinking, never again will I live under my parents roof. And that idea scared me. But now, after two years of college, and not having been home one summer, I love the idea of going home. I used to bring my laundry home with me so I could do it for free. But I have found that home is a good place just to relax and get away from all the stuff at school. Forget about laundry and homework and relax. Spend time with family and friends. Home is truly a unique place and sometimes I think I take that for granted.
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Fourth of July!!

17th of June
This weekend was Salina's Smoky Hill River Festival! I went for the first time along with my roommates! It was a lot of fun to listen to the many differents types of bands, look at art from all over the midwest, and of course getting to eat gobs and gobs of food. The homeade ice cream was amazing! Although those funnel cakes looked pretty good too. We ran into a couple of our professors, its always fun to run into them outside of their "element"!
Taking two classes this summer has just gotten rough! Not to mention they are both math related subjects...not my strong suit. Although its completely worth it because my statitics class will be done in three weeks...right before the 4th of fuly!
The roomies and I finally made it to season 3 of LOST...its pretty intense over at our house.
Off to class!!! I hope everyone is enjoying summer!

First Post
Hi everyone!
Welcome to my blog!
My name is Merritt and I'm going to be a junior at K-State @ Salina. I'm getting my degree in the professional pilot major and I'm so excited about it! K-State is an awesome school and aviation students have the privilidge of having a runway right in our campus's backyard!
This summer I just moved into a house with two other people, we are having a blast. We have had fun painting our living room and watching LOST for hours on end every night! This summer I am working on campus, at the Office of College Advancement (stop by and say, "Hi"), and I am also taking two classes this summer...not fun...but at least I'm getting them over with quickly! And in between taking classes and working I am flying towards my commercial rating!
Keep watching for most posts!!
